CHEAP FLIGHTS TO BUSINESS SUCCESS – PART 4

Another reason you may not want to go into or grow a business...
Not Even Knowing the Area of Business to Venture Into

Now, this is very interesting; and VERY important. The wrong decision could wreak havoc on your future, finances and morale. And you know what..? This is another reason why I stood firm on turning away from the fashion business and sticking to agro-processing. When the recession really hit Nigeria in 2016, I realized I had to look into what people will be willing to spend on; and fashionable bags..? No! I mean.., not that they couldn’t, but how much will they be willing to pay cash for? So, I decided to look into a greater line of service than improving some chic’s bag wardrobe. I recognised that the nation had issues of producing/extracting and selling/exporting primary goods, then importing more of manufactured goods, some of which she can produce.
I felt that more people going into agro-processing will help the nation in various ways, and that will be more lucrative, easier to sustain, etc., and still come under production (which is my passion). So, the decision was quite easy. Now.., I had to narrow the service to something more personal, seeing as agro-processing is such a wide range of processing. The questions remained:
-         What do people want?
-         What will make their lives easier?
When I could not answer those appropriately, I went around and asked myself:
-         What do I want?
-         What will make my life easier?
-         Do others relate to this need/want I have?
Then, I asked people around questions, did some research online, met with people in gatherings and struck up friendly conversations which led to seeing how many of them would relate to these needs I had; to these things I felt could make life easier. But, even more importantly, a need I felt I could fill; something I could produce. So far, long story short, that has worked for me.
The lesson here..? Service is the key.
Any business not built to serve others (any form of service) is built to fail! After all, everyone is looking for something. You recall that old Annie Lennox’s song that goes like this:
    Everybody’s looking for something
Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to be used by you....
Sure, you know it....
The point is, any good business that has stood the test of time was built on, and still stands on the delivery of service; QUALITY SERVICE!
Do you really need instances? Well, I won’t say... (hahaha). Look around you and make the comparisons. And that’s all I need to say on that.
Open your eyes...!

Well.., that’s my view, from my experiences, of issues of not knowing the line of business to go into when you want to start a business, guys. To get some insight into how to handle the next concern that you might have (Not having the patience or time to create and grow a business), please, move unto Part 5 of Cheap Flights to Business Success.
