CHEAP FLIGHTS TO BUSINESS SUCCESS – PART 5
Let’s look at another
reason why you may not want to go into or grow a business...
Not Having the Patience or Time to Create and Grow a
Business
I’ll be honest with
you, my dear friends.... I’ve only felt this way when planning a business I’m
not that passionate about and/or just don’t have the resources for. However,
coming down to someone considering venturing into business generally, here’s my
advice.... You can get someone you can trust to plan one for you. This is
possible. The person could give you ideas on how to go about it, and if you
have the funds, you can start it up and get a manager to look over it for you.
I’m not like that
though. I always prefer to plan and run my own business myself. I don’t really
trust people much when it comes to my passions... or my money. From experience,
getting someone to manage a business for me (and people close to me) has never
worked out very nicely. They end up knowing more about the business than you
do, and cheating, lying and stealing from you.
Next advice..? Just
find your passion.
Once you do, you will
find the time. However, some people have the time and patience to create a
business, but don’t have the patience to keep it running or grow it, or sustain
it, so at a point, they lose interest. When you do (lose interest after
building it), my suggestion would be to sell it, then move unto some other
passion. The mistake some people make is that they feel obligated to stay even
when they don’t want to. You don’t have to put yourself through that. Running a
business reluctantly is as good as not running it at all. You will destroy it
before you know it, and you know where it will start? In your service delivery!
Then, it will go on to poor equipment maintenance, and not making due
re-investments. And you will be too busy blaming the consumers, the government,
God, the world! So, I’ll advice you sell it while it’s still worth something.
And you know what? That’s even a good business idea.
Some people like to
build businesses from scratch (from as little as simple repackaging businesses,
to large refineries), sell them, and move unto the next... then sell again.
Some just buy and sell businesses. Think about it!
So..., that’s my view,
from my experiences, concerning not having the time or patience to plan and
grow a business, my dear. To get some insight into how to handle the next
concern which you might have (Raw material availability (especially when it
comes to production), and Getting it right (whether it’s a formulation or
otherwise), please, move unto Part 6 of Cheap Flights to Business
Success.
