A Truth About Life : We Are All Puppets With Freewill
Hello again, and welcome to my blog.
I decided to start a series talking about some truths about life, and each blog will cover a truth or two about... life. Now, these truths as I'm going to give them to you are based on my observations of life, and that of many people around me, and many others I have come across online, and here and there. If you look closely, and in all honesty, you will see these truths as well. I am not here to tell you what to believe, but to see how I can reveal some truths about life that we, as humans, just choose to ignore, and then go around complaining and making a mess of our lives because we don't understand (and in some cases, don't want to understand) how life, or the world, or the universe works.
Mind you, you don't have to accept anything I say here, but one day, when you decide to take the glasses off, you will see and have a better understanding of life and know what you read here wasn't far off. This blog is hereby not written to castigate or promote any religious belief system or group, but to tell you what you probably already know but just haven't realized or accepted it yet. (Yes, there's a difference between knowledge and acceptance!) Like I said, these are SOME truths of life, and not THE ONLY truths of life. So, feel free to share your own truths, ones which you have noticed in the course of your lifetime.
I would give these truths I'll share in each blog with basic physical evidence you can find around you and also share with you ways that you can understand these truths better for yourself, if you like.
So, let's get it on!
One truth of life is that we are all puppets with freewill. But, before you blow a fuse, listen/read. Would you prefer that I said we are all free but limited in our freedom? That's different from this, and I may get to that later. Honestly ask yourself if you have ever lived this life without being told what to do. I know some of you right now are saying "YES!!!", but I'll tell you something today... You are WRONG!
Now, you are probably feeling defensive because you find being called a puppet offensive, and you think I'm implying that you are always under constant supervision and manipulation by another human being. If you feel so, then you are not getting it either. There's more to life than human activities and their effects on other humans. What I mean is that the "force (or forces)" in possession of your strings could be another person, just like you, telling you what to do, and controlling your life; it could be your pet; it could be your boss, the government of your state, or country, etc. But that's all speaking physical stuff you can see and/or touch. Delving into more intangible forces, we talk of fear, anger, and other negative forces, or the Spirit of Life and other positive forces. Notice I didn't mention God, because another truth under this truth is that whatever you allow to control your life becomes your god.
You may be wondering how you relinquish such power of control over your life to someone or something else. I'll tell you how; consciously or unconsciously, simply put. To break it down some more, you do it out of some conscious or unconscious NEED. Everyone NEEDS something. That's part of what keeps your existing.
A simple instance is, the NEED to acquire a certain skill, makes you register for a course in an institution of sorts. You dedicate your time, intellect and emotion to the success your NEED, and so that institution becomes your puppet master at certain times of the day. You may say you don't care about the institution or the skill, then why are you there? Probably because you feel the NEED to please someone, or the NEED to prove a point to someone, or to yourself. The point is, there's always a NEED, and we relinquish our strings to some force, such as love, lust, fear, anger, or some person or place, and this force controls us until we exercise our freewill and hand over our strings to another force. And that's where the freewill is; or ability to decide who the next puppet master will be, and how long it will be in possession of our strings.
But this issue can be light or dire depending on who or what you allow your puppet master to be. That means you should try as much as possible to be more conscious of your so called NEEDS so that you can choose the proper puppet master to hand your strings over to. We exist, so we must need or desire, and because of this, we need a guide or puppet master.
Now, here's what I'm learning; you can be conscious of your choice for a puppet master of you can learn to be conscious of what you desire; be educated (or contemplate) on how far achieving that desire can take you in life; is there something greater or more satisfying than that desire you have? For me, if there is, then the pursuit may not be worth it. Thus, my best bet is seeking the ultimate, and the ultimate is that which makes me desire whatever it is I need (the base desire). And in most cases the best desire is just happiness.
You see, in our pursuit of happiness, we always believe that there is an obstacle to be moved, or that there is an ultimate goal to be achieved in order to be free. But, guess what... You will never be free until you become one with life. And one way to become one with life is simple... NEED NOTHING! When you need/desire nothing/NO THING (observe the difference), you have thus become content, then THINGS gravitate to you.
But wait! Are your still a puppet?
Of course you are! Helloooooo!(Lol!) But you have now submitted to the best puppet master, the Spirit of Life.
One of the ways to consciously and quickly achieve this state of awareness is by declaring yourself a channel, or instrument for the Spirit of Life every hour and every day of your life. As IT becomes a part of you, you become one with life, and you become and know that you are free.
There are times when it seems a higher power wants your strings so much that other forces are forced to relinquish your strings ASAP. And the higher power could be the Spirit of Life. If you think this is invasive and unwanted, allow me to share this experience of family friend with you. We'll call her Iméh (Nigerian name meaning Patience) to protect her identity. Iméh was replaced at her work place (where she had worked for so many years) when she went on a maternity leave. She found it frustrating as she couldn't work to support her family anymore. Then she got a job elsewhere in some other big establishment, but just before she could resume the boss in the establishment died and so no new workers were admitted for a very long time. But Iméh kept having dreams where she was sorting out rolls of fabric and picking fabric to sew and make dresses. One day, she finally decided to follow these dream experiences and take up sewing. She is now a fashion designer and is the happiest she has ever been in her life. Do you see how the strings were forcefully collected from other forces and handed over to the Spirit of Life? And you see how sweet her life got with the new puppet master?
Need I say more?
What would you say tends to control you most in life? What would you say dictates/controls most of your decisions? Do you agree that this is a truth of life? Please feel free to share your thoughts.
